Women’s AFL program to launch on SEN 116

Sports specialist network 1116 SEN has announced its new segment dedicated to the AFL women’s league, fronted by an all women cast.

The Sunday show, ‘The AFLW Hour of Power’, will be hosted by ex netball player Bianca Chatfield. Amongst the panel will be journalist Sam Lane, talent development mentor Chyloe Kurdas and women’s AFL player Kate Sheahan.

Featuring AFLW news, analysis and match previews, the show will air weekly at 8am and run for an hour.

Chatfield said: “Promoting women in sport is something I’ve been passionate about for a long time.

“The response to NAB AFLW has already been so positive and I am beyond excited to be part of the 1116 SEN broadcast team for the inaugural season.”

Cathy Thomas, general manager of 116 SEN, said: “It was a natural fit to have an expert team of women who are so passionate about sport to lead the charge on 1116 SEN’s coverage of the first NAB AFLW league.

“Listeners can expect a well-rounded level of analysis as Bianca, Sam, Chyloe and Kate will each bring their own unique expertise and opinions.

“Our in-depth coverage of the league will further cement 1116 SEN’s position as Melbourne’s Home of Sport.”

1116 SEN will also broadcast one live game per round with coverage beginning tomorrow from 7pm for the Collingwood and Carlton match.
