Woolworths features apple hungry wheelchair athlete in first Commonwealth Games ads
Woolworths has launched its 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games campaign featuring Australian wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley.
Created by M&C Saatchi, the ad features Fearnley’s dad, teacher, coach and a farmer who reveal how he used to train and take some freshly grown apples for the ride.
The campaign will also include athletes such as diver Georgia Sheehan, basketball player Adam Gibson, Paralympian Kelly Cartwright, runner Jessica Trengove, weightlifter Damon Kelly,
Netball player Caitlin Bassett and simmer Brenden Hall.
I teach ESL to migrant Australians, and your ad will be a great resource to teach Aussie English vernacular. Is there any chance you could send me the script for the Kurt Fearnley ad? I will be showing the ad in class — promo for you too!
Thanks for considering.
Pat
I truly hope Kurt can get off his wheelchair, over to tree and climb tree too grab an apple!!! More power to him…. But really??? Keep your ad real, too many fairytales around already!!
Hey I saw Kurt as a kid when I was a student teacher at Carcoar and he could have clambered up a tree to get an apple! He was a fierce kid! No use of his legs but a fierce kid.
