World Literacy Foundation advocate searching for schools for a good cause

World Literacy Foundation advocate, Andrew Kay, is looking to team up with four to five local schools to raise funds to provide children with books.

The announcement:

Andrew Kay, a passionate local advocate and voice for the World Literacy Foundation, is reaching out to the Cairns community this holiday season. He’s on a heartfelt mission to find 4-5 local schools to join him in a special fundraising effort to raise funds for 4,000 books for children who don’t have access to them—where 78% are struggling to read.

“Christmas is such a special time for giving,” Andrew shared. “I’m hoping to invite students and teachers to share in the Christmas goodwill by helping us get books into the hands of children who need them most.”

The “Give the Gift of Reading” campaign aims to unite the Cairns community in combating illiteracy by providing essential reading materials to underprivileged children. Andrew believes that with the support of local schools and teachers, they can make a significant impact on the lives of these kids.
