WPP AUNZ appoints Kate Walker as group client director

The former founder of WPP AUNZ specialist brand and culture agency Human Kate Walker has been appointed to the newly created role of group client director for WPP AUNZ, in a move to drive horizontal collaboration across the group’s 80 companies.

Walker rejoins the agency network after two years on leave where she lived in France.

She will work with Rob Currie, chief business director and Rose Herceg, chief strategy officer to provide clients with talent from across the group.

Across her career, Walker was also the founder and CEO of not for profit organisation Conscious Capitalism Australia as well as was the founder and managing director of WPP AUNZ’s Human for seven years.

Currie said hiring leaders like Walker is part of the group’s objective to meet 100% of clients’ customer experience requirements.

“Kate is an incredible talent with a wide breadth of leadership experience plus deep specialisation in managing large diversified teams of talent for clients,” Currie said.

“As clients increasingly demand bespoke Team Models, Kate’s experience will be invaluable to ensure WPP AUNZ creates strong, effective collaborative team cultures that truly work for its existing, and prospective, clients.”

Walker said of her appointment: “This role allows me to combine my skills in creating and managing large, bespoke integrated agency teams with my love of building strong, enduring client relationships.

“It’s an exciting challenge to lead the development of WPP Team models in our region, helping our clients reap the significant benefits of WPP’s horizontality strategy.”

Walker’s new role is effective immediately.
