WPP AUNZ merges PPR into BCW

Two of WPP AUNZ’s public relations agencies, PPR and BCW, will come together to form one agency.

The merger means the death of the PPR brand, and comes just days after PPR’s CEO Michael Pooley left the business.

BCW will now be in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland

Pooley now heads up his own communications consulting firm, Map Collective.

The new business will be called BCW and led by managing director Pamela Kiloufis.

WPP AUNZ’s CEO of PR and government relations, Kieran Moore, said the merger is about giving clients and the agencies’ team members best-in-class skills.

“The global thinking, experience, tools and systems of BCW, combined with the unparalleled local ANZ reach of PPR, make for a perfect match,” she said. “We look forward to our existing clients benefiting from this offer and to attracting new clients and people to BCW.”

Donna Imperato, the global CEO of BCW, echoed Moore’s sentiments, calling the merger “game-changing”.

“The new BCW in ANZ is really game-changing for clients in the region, giving them access to an unrivalled offering in terms of size, scope and expertise. With our deep bench of talent and industry-leading services, we can deliver really powerful programs that inspire and move people,” she said.

Matt Stafford, BCW’s president in Asia Pacific, said the merger makes BCW one of the largest PR firms in Australia.

“BCW’s Australian operation has already doubled in size over the past 18 months, both in terms of revenue and headcount. And now with this merger, BCW becomes one of the largest PR firms in the country,” he said.

“Our clients are eager to access our expanded offering while our newly combined team can now embrace the regional BCW talent, training and network support.”

In October, WPP AUNZ’s new permanent CEO Jens Monsees will join the company from Germany.
