WPP chief people officer AUNZ Lisa Sheehan, Dominik Heitmar set to depart group

WPP has made its local chief people officer Lisa Sheehan and local chief transformation officer Dominik Heitmar redundant, less than a month after it was announced that CEO Jens Monsees was leaving the Australian and New Zealand business.

Mumbrella understands that the Australian and New Zealand operations are currently being overseen and managed out of WPP plc London headquarters, with others in the Australian and New Zealand management team such as Linda Gough, general counsel and company secretary also likely to be let go.

Sheehan held the role of chief people officer, originally on a contract basis from November 2020, and was later appointed the position permanently in April 2021.

Heitmar joined the group in March 2020, to work with the leadership team to “implement and execute the company’s internal corporate strategy, plus drive strategic initiatives”.

WPP AUNZ was delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange on 19 May, following  a successful takeover by WPP plc for the remainder of the shares in the agency group.

The news comes after WPP retrenched local head of communications and marketing Toby Hemming yesterday.

Hemming joined the group in September 2020, to “look after marketing communications internally and externally for WPP”.

Hemming’s role at WPP AUNZ included management of the corporate communication and marketing team, which included long-time employees Sandra Renowden and Rebecca Tilly, both of whom were made redundant in February this year.

WPP management was contacted by Mumbrella in regards to the redundancies, and responded with “no comment”.
