Wrexham fan experience lands in Sydney with BWS Paddington event

Wrexham AFC fans in Sydney can meet stars from Welcome to Wrexham and get exclusive merch during a pre-match event at BWS Paddington.

The announcement:

Wrexham AFC’s hotly anticipated Wrexham Down Under pre-season tour has landed in Sydney, and to mark the moment, the club is bringing its legendary fan culture straight to Paddington.

Tonight, ahead of Wrexham’s match against Sydney FC, BWS Paddington will be transformed into a hub of club pride for the ultimate pre-match warmup, with a special in-store fan experience from 4–5pm.

Fans can get up close with stars of Welcome to Wrexham including Wayne Jones, beloved landlord of The Turf Hotel; Ben Foster, former England and Manchester United goalkeeper; and Ben Tozer, ex-club captain and long-throw specialist.

The first 10 fans through the doors will score a double pass to the match and a supporter pack valued at $215 AUD, including a 2024/25 official Wrexham AFC home shirt and a branded Wrexham supporter scarf, with the next 10 in line to take home the Wrexham merch.

The event also celebrates the limited-time arrival of Wrexham Lager in Australia, now available at select BWS stores across New South Wales and Victoria for a limited time, and is subject to ranging and stock from July. With a 4% ABV, the cult-favourite brew was originally founded in 1882. As the official beer of Wrexham AFC, Wrexham Lager has become a symbol of the club’s roots.

Sarah Chegwidden, head of retail marketing & planning at BWS, said:
“Wrexham AFC’s rise has captured the hearts of fans around the world, and we’re thrilled to help bring that excitement to Aussie shores. At BWS, we love celebrating the sport around the sport, the moments fans share before, during and after the game. This activation is about more than a product on the shelf, it’s about connecting fans with the culture, energy and spirit of the club they love.”
