The Wrong Girl finishes season with 408,000 viewers

The season finale of Ten’s The Wrong Girl managed 408,000 metro viewers, slightly up from its season two premiere.

However it did not beat Nine’s rival drama offering Doctor Doctor which averaged a metro audience of 735,000.

The earlier time slot saw Nine’s The Block dominated Ten’s The Bachelorette Australia and Seven’s The Grand Tour.

Nine’s The Block topped two of the three key advertising demographics – the 18-49s and 25-54s.

Its total metro audience was 1.216m, with its largest audiences from Melbourne and Sydney – 346,000 and 386,000 metro viewers respectively.

Ten’s The Bachelorette Australia placed second for entertainment programs, with 828,000 metro viewers. It topped the 16-39 ad demographic.

Seven’s The Grand Tour placed third in its time slot, collecting 508,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s Gruen was the national broadcaster’s most-watched program for Wednesday night, with 813,000 metro viewers.

In news, Seven won the night with 973,000 tuning in at 6pm. Nine News at 6pm had 908,000 metro viewers.

Earlier in the day, Seven’s Sunrise beat Nine’s The Today Show, with Sunrise pulling in 284,000 metro viewers over Today’s 261,000.

Nine achieved an overall audience share of 23.5%, winning Wednesday night.

In second place was Seven on 15.5% followed by Ten’s share of 14.8%. ABC and SBS’ shares were 12.2% and 5.4% respectively.
