Youth off the Streets ad features old homeless man
An old homeless man tells of the tragedy of being homeless when you’re young in an ad for charity Youth off the Streets.
The ad agency behind the ad was JWT Sydney.
“We worked with a group of homeless people in Sydney who were willing to share their stories and experiences, in an effort to challenge the attitudes of indifference to youth homelessness in Australia and improve the lives of young people living on the streets,” said JWT Sydney ECD Mark Harricks.
The campaign is made up of 30-second TV spots 45-second videos added to the Youth off the Streets website.
Youth off the Streets was established by Father Chris Riley in 1991, and helps more than 50,000 homeless young people.

I saw this skit being filmed in Martin Place. What you don’t see is the taser gun pressed against his back.

Don’t worry, the homeless youth can just put the money they beg into the pokie machines the good Father is determined to keep around in pubs and clubs. That’ll keep ’em going…

Was it paid for by Clubs Australia?! Cheeky but timely.
