Y&R NZ uses bad work experiences to encourage Kiwis to check their power savings
New Zealand’s Electricity Authority has revealed the first work from recently appointed creative and media agency Y&R NZ for ‘WhatsMyNumber.org.nz’.
The campaign encourages Kiwis to consider what their annual power savings might be worth to them by presenting it to them in terms of how many hours a consumer would have to work.
To highlight the importance of checking their annual power savings Y&R NZ use some of the worst work experiences, such as being yelled at and ridiculed by a boss to working in retail and having to endure annoying noises, to remind them of what their savings look like in the real world.
Scott Henderson, Y&R NZ’s Wellington creative director, said: “When you think about what we go through just to earn our shiny little pennies, it makes a lot of sense to hang onto them. The more value you place on the savings, the more reason you’ve got to take a couple of minutes and check your power deal.”
