September 23, 2011 –

Luxury hotel group YTL Hotels has appointed GTI Tourism as their public relations agency in Australia, effective immediately.

GTI Tourism has been appointed to undertake a public relations programme to raise the profile of YTL Hotels’ suite of high end hotels and resorts in the UK, France, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Borneo and Malaysia to the Australian media.

James McBride, President of YTL Hotels, says that the appointment is timely to communicate YTL Hotels significant expansion plans as well as innovations within existing resorts with a focus on the Asia Pacific area.

“YTL Hotels are currently expanding our portfolio of high end resorts and experiences particularly in the Asia Pacific region, there are a range of upcoming exciting announcements including the opening of Gaya Island Resort which makes the appointment of a PR agency in the Australian market timely,” said James.

New developments in the pipeline for YTL Hotels include the upcoming opening of the deluxe 121 room Gaya Island Resort in Borneo Malaysia and the further development of Niseko Village in Hokkaido, Japan. Together with the newly opened, innovative Shook! Shanghai restaurant at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, YTL Hotels have a lot of exciting advancements underway.

GTI Tourism will also be communicating new features and exciting developments within YTL Hotels existing resorts.

Highlighting the luxurious appeal of resorts such as Tanjong Jara Resort, The Majestic Malacca and Cameron Highlands Resort in Malaysia and Spa Village Resort Tembok, Bali in Indonesia will be the focus of the PR activity. Along with sharing YTL Hotels regular exciting innovations such as the Family C@nnect Facebook page and the innovative 4G mobile internet initiative now available at Pangkor Laut Resort.

James McBride believes the new relationship with GTI Tourism will help increase the profile of YTL Hotels in a market that has not quite met its full potential.

“The outbound market from Australia is currently very strong and we recognise there is significant potential to encourage more Australians to visit YTL Hotels properties, particularly in Asia. We look forward to working with GTI Tourism to educate the Australian media about our product portfolio, upcoming developments and innovations.”

GTI Tourism will implement a significant PR plan including an active press office, media familiarisation visits and consumer promotions.

GTI Tourism’s General Manager Georgia Ditton says, “We are thrilled to be working with YTL Hotels and we’re excited to be able to introduce more Australians to these incredible hotels, resorts and experiences.”
