Brinkies: national digital director to Melbourne MD

The Melbourne office of media agency ZenithOptimedia has promoted Leanne Brinkies – an executive with a digital background – to managing director.

Brinkies, who has had 17 years experience in media – seven of those with ZO – rises from general manager of the Melbourne operation and national digital director into the new role.

She will take responsibility for running of the Melbourne office, as well as other executive responsibilities at a national level, ZO’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Ian Perrin told Mumbrella.

Perrin noted: “With two important clients retained, and a raft of new business on board, 2013 is shaping up to be a really good year for ZenithOptimedia.

As we progress, its important that we recognize the talented people who have helped us. So I am delighted to announce the promotion of Leanne Brinkies to MD, Melbourne.”

“Leanne has done an absolutely fantastic job as GM for the past 2 years and we are delighted to be giving her additional responsibilities across the company. She took over the office at a difficult time, and has transformed it into an exceptional unit,” he said.

ZenithOptimedia recently retained the Victorian Government business as well as airline giant Qantas.

Brinkies said: “ZenithOptimedia were the first agency to place someone with a digital background to run an office and I am absolutely thrilled with the direction we have taken and that we are providing our clients with progressive integrated solutions.”

“I have the pleasure of leading a great bunch of talented people who have been instrumental in the success we have had this year. I am excited to be working with Ian and the executive team to drive the agency to our goal of being Australia’s first truly open agency,” she said.

Besides ZO, Brinkies has had stints with UM and Carat.
