Hopscotch Films releases first look at Drift
Film distributor Hopscotch Films has released its first look at new Australian film Drift.
Drift follows two surfing brothers, Jimmy and Andy Kelly in Margaret River, WA in the 1970s as they try to turn their hobby into a profession, creating a backyard surf gear business, with the help of photographer and film-maker JB. However, the new venture is at risk when Jimmy gets involved in a local bike gang.
The film stars Xavier Samuel and Myles Pollard as Jimmy and Andy Kelly and Sam Worthington as JB.
It was written and directed by Morgan O’Neill and co-directed by Ben Nott. The film was produced by Pollard, Tim Duffy and Michele Bennett.
Shooting began in August 2011. The film received support from ScreenWest and Screen Australia.
Hopscotch will release the film in April/May 2013.
