The appointment comes less than a month after the station dumped its previous breakfast duo Tommy Little and Meshel Laurie, after Laurie had already announced she was defecting to Kiis 101.1 in 2016.

The last ratings survey had Nova100 at sixth with a 6.8 per cent share in people 10+ and a 6.4 share in breakfast.

Swan’s appointment was announced last month after she became a regular on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa show this year in Sydney.

Nova Entertainment today trumpeted the appointments describing the trio as well known Melbourne personalities who would help create a “distinctly Melbourne” breakfast show with the aim of getting to number one in the market in 2016.

Louise Higgins, Nova Entertainment COO said: “We have made a bold move in creating a show that has a real point of difference, is distinctly Melbourne and will appeal to a broader demographic ensuring its success with all Melbourne audiences.”

The trio takes to the air on Nova 100 in January 2016.
