Peter Berner to leave Triple M tomorrow

Comedian Peter Berner is to depart Triple M, the Austereo radio station said today.

He had been presenting the hour-long show The Peter Berner Experiment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings since last year. It was one of the few FM shows with a solo host. His last show will be tomorrow.

According to the Austereo announcement, the move is to allow Berner “to get back into the stand up circuit and pursue further TV and radio projects”. Paul Murray and Rachel Corbett, who presented the breakfast show until being replaced by The Grill last month, will now present drivetime on the station from 4-7pm, Tuesday to Thursday.

Last month Berner was reported to be in talks with Nine about being a panelist on a 7pm current affairs programme potentially to be hosted by Eddie mcGuire..

In the last round of ratings, Triple M’s numbers fell again, with the station recording a share of 3.6% in Sydney.
