Southern Cross Austereo’s Today Network rebrands as Today’s Hit Network
Southern Cross Austereo’s challenged Today Network has had a brand refresh with the network changing its name to Today’s Hit Network.
In an internal memo to staff SCA director of metro operations Guy Dobson said: “I’m excited to announce the launch of Today’s Hit Network which marks the start of an exciting new era for our hit music stations in 2015.
“Expect great new shows, a new music format and a new ethos in everything we do that will give our listeners and our clients the best content and winning ideas. It’s a fresh new look to compliment the exceptional content we’re excited to roll out in 2015”
The network was previously known as Today’s Austereo Network, with the rebrand coming weeks after the renaming and reformatting of SAFM in Adelaide to Hit107.
The network’s other stations across the country include 2DayFM in Sydney, FoxFM in Melbourne, B105 in Brisbane, and 92.9 in Perth.
It is thought more stations including 2DayFM in Sydney could be rebranded under the Hits banner as the station looks to claw back market share in key markets.
Yep, third to do it out of… um… three national networks desperate to claim as many corporate bucks as they can by claiming to be fresh/new/different.
Yesterday FM.

Do people still listen to commercial radio? Adds with crap music in between

“Hits Network”? Sounds like something out of the 1960s or ’70s. Next they’ll be using a zippered denim record as the logo.
