10 officially launches All Access video on demand service
CBS and Network Ten’s subscription video on demand service, 10 All Access, has officially launched.
The new platform will cost $9.99 a month – the same as Netflix and Stan – and includes a month free for new subscribers.
It will provide consumers with access to exclusive CBS originals, TV series and the ability to live stream CBSN and CBS News’ 24/7 service.
Ahead of the launch, Ten CEO Paul Anderson, told Mumbrella there was room for another local subscription service.
“There are a number of other more niche streaming services that exist in this market already. With the nature of the way technology is moving and all devices being connected including the majority of new television now, then that’s the way premium video will be watched in the future,” Anderson said at the time.
“We have the great advantage of the benefit of CBS’ platform which they’ve had for five years in the US and Canada. Yes, is the short answer [there is room].”
Today, Anderson said it fit perfectly into the ’10 family’.
“10 All Access gives us a fantastic new avenue to engage audiences with premium entertainment any way they want it,” Anderson said.
“We’ll continue to evolve 10 All Access with more great content to binge on and more product features to enhance the viewing experience. We are just getting started.”
CBS Interactive’s president and chief operating officer, Marc DeBevoise, said the business was looking to expand 10 All Access across platforms in future.
“10 All Access brings thousands of episodes of CBS and 10’s leading programming to digital platforms, making it simple for fans looking for more of their favourite television content to get it in one easy-to-use, multi-platform service,” DeBevoise said.
10 All Access is available on iOS and Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast and online. Those who subscribe can watch up to three screens simultaneously.
The features:
- Exclusive CBS All Access original series including Tell Me A Story, One Dollar and Strange Angel, with more to be announced. The first two seasons of The Good Fight will also be available.
- The ability to watch select upcoming series the same day as they air in the U.S. and before they air locally in Australia including new series Happy Together, The Code, Fam, The Neighborhood and In the Dark, as well as new seasons of CBS hits like Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, Man with a Plan and SEAL Team.
- Hit series from Network 10 including Neighbours, The Bachelor Australia, The Bachelorette Australia, The Living Room and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
- Full past seasons of many current CBS hits such as NCIS, Survivor, Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Instinct and more.
- More than 50 CBS classics like Melrose Place, The Good Wife, Frasier, Cheers, Family Ties, the original Charmed, the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch and many more.
- The ability to live stream CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service featuring live, anchored coverage and original reporting.
Putting a price tag on this is an interesting decision….

Ten can’t get viewers to watch when it’s on free to air, so why would anyone pay $10 a month to watch Re-runs?
When CEO Paul Anderson talks about paying for premium content does he include rating’s dogs like Pointless, Game of Thrones, Biggest Loser etc etc.
Good luck, I’ll be consuming all my news on free to air and getting my programming and sport fix from Netflix and Foxtel.

How could this article be written sans any mention of the future of the TenPlay product? (so many bleeding obvious questions raised off the back of this announcement… none of which are posed here)

But will there be ads?

And at least they had some premium/cable network content. This is free-to-air rubbish with a price tag.
Look forward to the “10 All Access to be shuttered” follow up article in 12-24 months.

$10 for that? Hahahahahahaah, no chance.

Love to see how they deal with big block buster TV shows where Netflix and alike, have invested in CBS shows, and have exclusive outside of North America distribution rights…. eg. Star Trek Discovery

It’s fantastic that Australians have another streaming option and more choice, something Aussies continually complain about.
FTA in Australia is plain rubbish and Foxtel don’t even provide a Netflix style streaming service for Movies/TV shows and Docs so there’s definitely a market for this and it’s also affordable.

I feel like they’re asking us to pay Netflix prices for Crackle quality.

Foxtel Now…?

This is laughable. Paying for the same garbage as we get on free-to-air. Still delayed years after the US, Foxtel, Netflix, Stan, etc and dollars to donuts if it isn’t already plagued with ads it will be soon!
Unlike my credit card, I carry a very low rate of interest in this folly!
