2014 Annual: Turkeys of the year

We’ve brought you some of the best ads of the year, now here are some of the ones we reckon might be duds.

Transport NSW’s Opal ads

Transport NSW kicked off its marketing push for new ticketing system Opal with a series of ads featuring an Opal man. People’s extreme enthusiasm for the public transport system places this campaign firmly on the turkey list.

Continental Cup a Soup

A singing cup a soup and a sandwich? Definitely turkey territory.

Leggo’s

This spot from Leggo’s scored itself a place on this list due its sheer lack of imagination.

Chicken Tonight

The new Chicken Tonight ad which admitted its old advertising was annoying scored itself a place on the turkeys list due to a failure to introduce anything new to its marketing.

Nando’s Tongue Training

This is just weird and a little gross. For the sound effects alone this ad found itself on the turkeys list.

Miranda Ward

Miranda Ward worked for Mumbrella from 2013 to 2017, eventually becoming deputy editor. Miranda joined Mumbrella in September 2013 from Sky News.
