3M awards Slingshot media strategy business

Adhesives-to-dental care conglomerate 3M has extended its relationship with Slingshot Media Ventures, awarding the agency its media strategy and production business, estimated to be worth $3 million.

Slingshot already handles 3M’s media implementation and activation duties, and was handed the work without a review. The business was formerly with the now defunct former parent of Slingshot, Bellamy Hayden, which merged with Naked Communications last year.

The agency is to be briefed on specific campaigns for 3M’s broad product offering next week, Slingshot’s CEO Simon Rutherford told Mumbrella.

“Clients are seeking more value from their assets on the same or less money. We have been building a team of talented senior staff to deliver this and our clients are really experiencing the difference,” he added.

The win coincides with the appointment of Lisa Overall, media specialist at Newspaper Works and formerly a director at Bellamy Hayden, as Slingshot’s head of strategy and insights.
