60 Minutes special takes Nine to ratings win

Nine’s extended 60 Minutes special helped it to a ratings win for the evening in what was seen as the first proper test of the network’s weekend current affairs lineup against Seven’s new show Sunday Night.  

And it saw round one go to the 60 Minutes 30th anniversary special, which Nine extended to 90 minutes at the last moment.

According to the preliminary OzTam ratings, 60 Minutes enjoyed an average audience of nearly 1.3m, while Seven’s Sunday Night took nearly 1.1m.

Nine won the day with 27.9%; Ten was a close second with 26.3%; followed by Seven with 25.7%; ABC with 15.1% and SBS with 5%.

  3. So You Think You Can Dance – Ten 1.3m
  4. 60 Minutes – Nine 1.3
  5. Triple Zero Heroes – Seven 1.2m
  6. Nine News – Nine 1.2m
  7. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation – Nine 1.1m
  8. City Homicide – Seven 1.1m
  9. The Biggest Loser – Ten 1.1m
  10. Sunday Night – Seven 1.1m

Meanwhile the ratings for last week saw a narrow win for Seven over Nine.
