ABC and CAB merge into new industry body

The Audit Bureau of Circulations and Circulations Audit Board are to merge under a new brand called the Audited Media Association of Australia.

The change has been driven by the need to streamline costs between the two organisations, both in terms of administration and corporate structure, the CEO of the merged body has said.

ABC & CAB chief executive Paul Dovas said the existing audit and reporting rules for the ABC and CAB audit services, which cover print, digital, web, email publications and events, would remain the same and the two brands would be retained.

“We want our members to benefit from the creation of one new legal entity encompassing the ABC and CAB while still retaining our two distinct brands,” Dovas said.

“Our main aims are to streamline the financial and administrative functions of the bodies and give a contemporary, corporate not-for-profit structure to the organisation.”
