ABC Podcast conference OzPod returns for second year with Making Oprah’s host Jenn White as keynote
ABC Radio’s Australian Podcast Conference, OzPod, will return for its second year and feature Jenn White, host and production team member of the US-based Making Oprah podcast, as the keynote speaker.
Following its successful launch last year, the not-for-profit event will be held at Sydney’s ABC Ultimo Centre on September 8.
Along with White as keynote speaker, OzPod 2017 will include curated panels discussing the industry and content-related themes covering a range of topics ranging across diversity, ethics, technologies, storytelling, monetisation and building audiences.
Kellie Riordan, manager of ABC Audio Studios, said she was looking to hearing from White, a TV and radio broadcasters from the US.
“OzPod has quickly become the go-to event for the entire podcasting industry, whether it’s for tips on content creation, business development, or building your audience,” said Riordan.
“Whether you’re a small podcast producer looking to meet other creators, or a platform on the hunt for the next crop of talent, OzPod welcomes every podcaster and radio maker in Australia. It will be a day full of thought-provoking discussion. We are particularly excited about our keynote, Jenn White, who is the co- creator and host of one of the standout podcast hits of the last 12-months.”
For 2017, OzPod has introduced a registration fee of $99 to cover some of the production and running costs. The conference remains entirely not for profit.
