ABC: Thanks for the memories, make em laugh
The ABC has launched a full-scale media management operation this morning as it announces up to 400 job cuts and numerous other changes.
Part of this was a website which was supposed to give more details about the cuts to journalists. Unfortunately it had not been sent live when Dr Mumbo clicked on it.
Instead he got a ‘Page not found’ and a list of recent posts. Titles that caught the eye included ‘Make ’em laugh’,’Telling Tales’, ‘The man who saw too much’, and ‘ABC goes Mental As’.
Some others which may be going through the mind of ABC employees today include ‘Playing God’ and ‘Thanks for the Memories’
Thank God Mumbrella has never had a link stuff up.
Cheap. An unworthy cheap shot. I might start looking for the Unsubscribe button.

The ABC runs over 300 websites. Trouble is nobody looks at over 200 of them. I suspect the person running the site was on the couch maybe having a snooze or on a break after the stress of yesterdays job cuts.

The ABC website attracts a heap of visitors:

(I bet the LNP ‘money first’ brigade would love to ruin it, by covering it in adverts…)

The Facts ? you are dreaming. Show me the stats for the other 300 ABC we pages ?? 4400 staff. Cull 3400 of them. Why does the ABC broadcast on radio AFL football? They pay a fortune for the broadcast rights ? The commercial radio networks and tv networks have blanket coverage of the same sport ? The ABC charter say they are meant to be the alternative ? But no for some reason management want to spend millions on AFL football. You could save Adelaide production alone and women’s soccer, but no, Scott wants to show the Government that people will suffer. Why is SBS still running multiple radio channels in different languages with translators and getting audiences of less than 1000 people ? Hopeless the lot of them.
