Acast appoints award-winning Penguin Random House publicist as Aussie comms manager

Podcast leaders Acast have appointed Etty Eastwood in the newly-created role of PR and communications manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Eastwood spent over ten years at publishing house Penguin Random House UK, working on bestselling books by Bill Gates, Michael Lewis, Tina Brown, and Bono, and scoring Campaign of the Year at the 2024 British Books Awards.

In her last role, Eastwood oversaw publicity for #Merky Books – the publishing imprint set up by Stormzy – and co-organised the #Merky Books Literature Festival in partnership with Netflix.

I’m a huge fan of so many of the podcasts hosted by Acast,” Eastwood told Mumbrella, “from health and self-development to comedy and true crime, and I can’t wait to work with some of Australia and New Zealand’s leading content creators.

“I think there is so much opportunity to celebrate the work being done by Acast and its podcast partners and in turn continue to attract new listeners. It’s exciting to work in an industry that’s growing at such a fast pace and to join the exceptional team at Acast.”

Acast’s local MD Henrik Isaksson said: “As we move into 2025 and beyond, we are very lucky to have someone like Etty join us with experience across publishing and working with globally renowned names.”
