ACP joins PacMags in the battle for mature women

The mature women’s market is shaping up to be a key Australian magazine battleground for 2009.

Just hours after PacMags announced that it is to launch Prevention magazine to sit alongside stablemate Women’s Health, ACP has said it will carry out a “major relaunch” of Good Health magazine.

According to Good Health editor Catherine Marshall: “We have a strong, loyal reader base in the 40+ age bracket and now we want to build our readership in the emerging younger audience.”

The new positioning will see Good Health attempt to broaden its appeal to women in the 30-40 age bracket and widen its focus on health and lifestyle. The magazine will also be rebranded from its former title of Good Health and Medicine – it was originally a spin-off from Nine’s TV show Good Medicine.

The new look magazine will be on sale from the beginning of June to coincide with ACP’s 30 Days of Health and Wellbeing. The relaunch, which will be backed by a marketing campaign, appears to be one of the biggest investments ACP is likely to make in its magazines this year.

Meanwhile, as Mumbrella reported earlier today, PacMags is going after the 40+ women’s market with healthy lifestyle title Prevention to launch later in the year.
