Adam Ferrier joins Disrupt Radio as breakfast host

Adam Ferrier, co-founder of advertising agency Thinkerbell, is set to join new media start-up Disrupt Radio as a breakfast host, Mumbrella can reveal.

Ferrier becomes the latest name to join the lineup at the new digital station, which includes Libbi Gorr, an experienced broadcaster, and Jules Lund, entrepreneur and former radio host.

Ferrier will broadcast live twice weekly.

Ferrier will co-host the breakfast show, titled Enterprise Breakfast. alongside Gorr. on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 9am. Gorr’s co-hosts for Monday, Tuesday and Friday are yet to be revealed.

While it is Ferrier’s first foray into live radio, he has experience behind a microphone, hosting a podcast with Telstra’s chief marketer, Brent Smart. He also often makes appearances on Seven’s Sunrise, as well as being a regular panelist on ABC’s Gruen.

“I’ve always thought there should be a strong, intelligent, opinionated, progressive voice represented in morning radio so I’m glad Libbi has got the gig. I’ll just be there for the ear candy,” Ferrier told Mumbrella.

Alongside Benjamin Roberts and Michelle Guthrie, the new station is being spearheaded by British radio guru, Steve Kyte, previously manager of ABC Radio in Melbourne and a former BBC executive.

Before starting his own consultancy, Kyte also re-launched LBC, the UK’s biggest talk station.

The lineup for the South Melbourne-based station will be revealed in the lead-up to its launch, understood to be scheduled for the end of June.
