Adelaide radio ratings: Ali Clarke returns to the top of breakfast, ABC the big winner

FIVEaa has given up the large breakfast lead it had in July’s radio ratings, with a major swing seeing ABC Adelaide’s Ali Clarke return to the top of the charts.

After FIVEaa’s Breakfast with David Penberthy and Will Goodings jumped 1.7 percentage points to 15.5% last survey, the show dropped back to 13.6%, while Breakfast with Ali Clarke gained 3.8 points to reach a share of 16.2%.

Mix102.3 continued to have the largest overall share, consolidating its lead with a 0.7 rise to a 13.9% share.

The trend of listeners turning over to AM, despite Adelaide not being substantially affected by lockdowns, continues. The ABC was the biggest overall mover, rising 2.4 percentage points to a 12.2% share, good for second, while fellow AM station FIVEaa dropped 2 points to a 10.3% share in third spot.

Nova and TripleM continued to drop back after surges earlier this year, with the former dropping 0.6 points to 9.8% and the latter falling a further 0.8 points to 8.4%. Cruise 1323 also dropped below a double-digit share to 9.9%.

In the breakfast slot, Mix’s Erin Phillips & Soda maintained the lead for FM breakfast shows, despite another slight dip. The show dropped 1 point to a 10.8% share, closely followed by rivals Ben and Liam at Nova, also taking a minor dip of 0.2 to land on 10.1%.

SAFM was the only other major competitor to not see a breakfast dip.

Nova’s national team of Kate, Tim and Joel surrendered their lead with a large 1.6 percentage point drop to 13.2%. Mix’s Will and Woody took back the lead over their competitors with a slight rise of 0.4 points to 14.2% overall.

Elsewhere, FIVEaa also dropped back in the drive slot, surrendering its third-place spot by dropping 2.2 points down to 7.9% overall share.
