Nova 91.9 has overtaken the dominant Mix 102.3 to become the most-listened to station in the Adelaide market, ending Mix’s run of 27 consecutive survey victories.
GfK’s seventh radio survey of the year, which ran from 18 August to 21 September and 29 September to 2 November, saw Nova secure a 12% share in the people 10+ demographic thanks to a 0.7 percentage point increase. That was enough to dethrone Mix, which finished just 0.1% behind on a 11.9% share, due to a 0.4 point slide.
Third is line was Five AA, climbing 0.3 points to a 10.3% share, then ABC Adelaide on 10%. ABC’s Radio National Adelaide experienced the biggest decline, down 0.6 points to a 1.9% share.
Nova’s drive-time performance carried the station to an overall win. Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold increased their lead, soaring to a 16.4% share (up 1.7 percentage points).
Mix’s Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw remained second in the slot on a 12.2% share, but their one percentage point climb wasn’t enough to narrow Kate, Tim and Marty’s lead.
