AdNews editor Sophocleous quits; agency of the year shortlist revealed
The editor of Australia’s oldest advertising magazine, AdNews, is to step down after seven years with the company, Mumbrella can reveal.
Andrea Sophocleous will leave the Yaffa Publishing Group title after its annual Agency of the Year Awards have taken place at the end of the month. She told Mumbrella: “It’s time for a change. AdNews is going from strength to strength so it’s nice to be leaving on a high.” AdNews recently celebrated its 80th anniversary.
She said her departure was a lifestyle choice and she planned to pursue a freelance career. She will be succeeded as editor by Matt Porter.
Meanwhile, AdNews has published its awards shortlist:
So it’s official: Tim Adington is now the hottest trade press editor
Adington, your so hot right now.
jeez, a Kiwi versus a Pom now in the editor’s seat, thats a scary thought for the Australian ad industry.
Hey, I know ‘Addo’ and he did his time on the mean streets of Melbourne during his school years before moving to Blighty.
So, in a suprise twist, B&T is actually now more Aussie than AdNews.
