Affinity has hired Russell Smyth as to the newly created role of creative director.

Smyth joins after spending 12 months freelancing as a creative director. Previously, he spent eight years as the creative director of Ogilvy.

Senior hires at Affinity: Giorgia Butler, Russell Smyth and Lisa Christie

Affinity has also recently hired Giorgia Butler as senior strategist and brand director.

Butler previously spent a year performing contract roles as a strategy director for Y&R and Houston Group. Prior to that, she was at Ogilvy for three years, starting out as a senior strategist and later moving up to strategy director.

The two appointments follow Lisa Christie, who was previously appointed to the new role of group media director. Christie joined Affinity after spending the past 10 years running her own agency, Media Garage.

Each of the newly created roles are a part of Affinity’s new internal structure, removing the traditional account management team and instead providing clients with contacts directly involved with the work.

Affinity now has 10 client-facing strategists.

Luke Brown, CEO of Affinity, said: “We’re proud to have attracted the calibre of talent in Lisa, Giorgia and Russell. They’re already demonstrating their exceptional talent in working with our data-driven approach and are making a huge difference to our clients on a daily basis.

“Clients are loving having access to critical thinking across every single conversation and appreciate our ability to constantly add value whilst streamlining the process.”
