AGT wins Tuesday while The Block slips to tenth
Australia’s Got Talent continued its Tuesday domination last night with 1.75 million viewers.
Masterchef came next with almost 1.6 million but the second episode of The Block slipped down to 10th spot with 1.11 million, 230,000 less than its debut.
The 7PM Project audience was up on the previous night with 783,000 but was 155,000 less than last Tuesday night, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam.
SBS’ heavily promoted Go Back To Where You Came From documentary was 23rd most-watched with an audience of 524,000. It was the first of a three-part series airing this week.
Really? Only 23rd place for Go Back To Where You Came From? I enjoyed it and hoped more people had watched it.
Problem is, those who should watch “Go Back To Where You Came From?” probably aren’t said the Lead Soprano to the Choir….
Wow, I am surprised at “Go Back To Where You Came From”! It is great television! And at the heart of current political and social discussion!
But I guess those people getting polled for these statistics aren’t the ones who would even watch the program.. let alone sbs! They’re the ones who watch “Australia’s Got Talent”… tsk tsk.
Expecting Australians to watch TV shows that reveal how horrible some other Australians are at their core (as this SBS show wonderfully does) was always doomed to fail in terms of ratings. As a nation we only mass consume content that pats ourselves on the back when it comes to TV. A shame as this show is amazing.
If only they’d called it ‘Australia’s Got To Send Them Back To Where They Came From’, then some of Alan Jones audience might have tuned in and learnt something.
