AIMCO announces new event ‘AiMCO Summit’
AIMCO has a new event for the Australian creator and influencer industry, AIMCO Summit.
The announcement:
The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) today announced the launch of its inaugural AiMCO Summit – a new, premier Australian creator and influencer industry event.
Set to be held in Sydney in February, the summit will bring together the brightest voices in marketing, agency, platform and creator talent to share ideas, showcase bold thinking and shape the future of the sector.
The summit is set to feature workshops, keynote speakers, panel discussions and case studies, designed to connect industry leaders and showcase creative excellence.
The inaugural event theme is The Creator Era – Exploring Creators, Culture and Commerce, deep diving into how creators are driving culture, building communities and fuelling commerce at-scale.
AiMCO has opened content submissions from members for the summit, calling for pitches from creators, brands, agencies, platforms, marketers, academics and industry leaders, for practical session offerings that will inspire, challenge and empower participants.
Submissions should be designed to fit a 20-minute format, offering content that sparks debate, provides bold ideas and offers clear takeaways.
Pitches can include proposed keynote speeches, panel sessions, workshops, fireside chats or case studies across three content pillars:
- Creators: The People Powering the Industry – exploring creator career paths, entrepreneurship and management, representation and ethics in the creator economy, contracts and industry strands, and building long-term, sustainable partnerships.
- Culture: Creators as Culture Drivers – exploring story-telling and new narrative formats, trends, communities and fandom dynamics, social impact and purpose-driven campaigns and how creators are shaping culture, media and society.
- Commerce: The Business of Creators – exploring ROI, data and measurement frameworks, platform economics and monetisation models, case studies of successful collaborations and scalable creator strategies
All submissions will be assessed by AiMCO’s board, councils and its working committee, and a full program will be announced later this year.
AiMCO managing director, Patrick Whitnall, said: “We are thrilled to launch our first-ever AiMCO Summit. This is a concept we’ve been working on since I joined AiMCO, in response to calls from our members to not only celebrate our work, but create a platform that brings together our industry through the work, innovation and conversations that move our industry forward.
“This summit will be the most significant learning and development event for creators, brands, tech innovators and agencies in Australia. The inaugural event’s focus will be on the creator era – a timely topic, given nearly a quarter of Australians aged between 18 and 44 consider themselves influencers, with the sector likely to be worth more than $1.257 billion by 2028.*
“Data also shows nearly 46% of Australians have purchased an item after seeing an influencer promote it** – it’s clear that creators are not just shaping the industry, they are leading it. Influence, innovation and impact are being redefined by creators – they are building businesses, shaping industry, setting trends and redefining influence. Creators are driving business growth, and in turn, brands and platforms are reimagining their value and impact.
“As part of our summit, we’re looking for content submissions from all corners of the Australian influencer marketing industry. We want submissions that showcase best practice and push the conversation forward; that encourage debate, inspire pride and empower the industry to think differently. We’re looking forward to creating a varied and inspiring agenda that gets people talking.”
The AiMCO Summit will be held on Thursday, 26 February 2026 at NIDA Parade Theatre in Sydney and will be followed by the 2025 AiMCO Awards that night.
Content submissions close on Thursday, October 23.
