Alan Kohler to speak at Meet the Media next week

Alan Kohler respected finance journalist and commentator and the founder of the Eureka Report and Business Spectator is currently on long service leave.

What could possibly get him off leave? A chance to present on what a modern day newsroom looks like at a forum in Sydney on March 3.

The forum is made up of some Australia’s best media and will be attended by experts, business owners and industry leaders.

Alan is not the only media veteran that is going to speak at this Q&A style program he will be joined by Chris Bendall the senior producer at The Project, Erin Bouda from Nine’s Today Show, Ben Cubby from the Sydney Morning Herald and even the content director of Mumbrella, Tim Burrowes, will be on a panel to discuss at the forum what does a modern day newsroom look like?

Brisbane is just as exciting with Mark Dransfield of Studio 10, Simon Holt of Brisbane Times and the entertaining and passionate GoldFM Bianca Dye.

“Today’s newsrooms and media houses look nothing like they did two years ago – let alone in the last decade,” says Nic Hayes, MD of Media Stable and the organiser of the national tour of #MeetTheMedia.

“There is a large portion of the communications industry that doesn’t know how to communicate to journalists and media and this is their opportunity for them to hear it from the horse’s mouth.”

The #MeetTheMedia forum started in Melbourne in November 2015 where it was met with rave reviews from both media and business owners. The most compelling aspect of the forum was that everyone enjoyed meeting each other without having to meet a deadline or race off to a meet.

The half-day forums are designed to educate, inform and empower business owners and those responsible for the communication of brand. If you know what a journalist and media are going through today you can improve your pitch and approach. Something more media personnel will appreciate.
