Amplify launches audio drama series starring TikTok influencers, with major sponsor backing

Podcast studio Amplify has launched an audio drama chronicling the lives of three teenage girls who make a ‘stay single’ pact, in a content series sponsored by Modibodi.

The Single Squad, produced by Michelle Melky and Hayley Adams, stars a trio of popular Australian TikTok creators with healthy followings – Maddy MacRae (1.6 million followers), Finn Burton (600,000 followers), and Moldoga (600,000 followers).

Described as a “young adult rom-com triumph”, Melky said the serial provides all the tropes a Generation Z audience loves.

“Teenage girls are platform agnostic – they really don’t care where they get their entertainment,” she said.

“They just want to watch stories that make them feel all the feelings. Podcasting made a lot of sense for us to test this theory with.”

The sponsorship with period underwear maker Modibodi complements the brand’s “mission to have conversations others are afraid to have”, Amplify’s announcement read.

The Single Squad writer Fenella Jamieson weaved subtle Modibodi references and scenarios into the script, including white-skirt party outfits to having avoidable leaks at school.

Episode one dropped on Monday and new instalments will be released weekly. The season comprises 20 episodes.

Amplify’s previous work includes Spotify Originals series Gee Thanks, Out of Character with Millie, Fair Enough, and Trash Alley.

Each was fronted by popular social media identities.
