And the letter of the month is… a correction
There’s a firm letter in AdNews today from OzTam boss Kate Inglis-Clark seeking to correct a piece about the TV industry that appeared in the previous edition of the trade title.
Which is fair enough – every editor prefers to carry a letter to having to run a correction on the news pages.
But the twist is in the tail. AdNews also announces its letter of the month telling readers: “We love to hear your opinions. That is why the best letter each month receives a case of fine Yalumba Barossa wines.” (Which is at least an improvement on the pack of ghastly Yalumba Y Series wine the magazine gives away with its subscriptions…)
But guess who won? Yup, Kate Inglis-Clark.
Mind you, the magazine did only publish three letters this month including Inglis-Clark’s one today. The May 7 edition carried two letters – one of which was anonymous, leaving just one other contender. As that was MCN boss Damian Keogh taking issue with a piece about the TV industry, there probably wasn’t much to choose between them.
Nonetheless, Dr Mumbo is sure that Ms Inglis-Clark will be delighted she put pen to paper.
Damian Keogh is sexy.

“Ed: Damian Keogh is sexy”
…and he’s pretty mean from the 3-pointer line!

Damn… I was trying to get Adnews to correct a piece back in March where Amnesia claimed to be the only Australian digital agency to make it to the Webby finalists in 2009. They forgot to mention that we at Circul8 not only made it to the finalists but were the only Australian digital agency to actually win a Webby last year! (correct me if I’m wrong)
They wouldn’t correct it!! – I should have written a letter and got a case of wine as compensation.
