Animation selected for Banff International Pilots Competition

Australia’s SLR Productions latest project, Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs has been selected as a nominee in the Banff International Pilots competition at the 2011 Banff World Media Festival in June.

The 52 X 11 minute series is adapted from a book of the same name.

The series also won Best TV Pilot and Arlecchino Award for Best Book Based Wor at Italy’s 2011 Cartoons On The Bay Pulcinella Awards International Television and Cross Media Animation Festival in March.

As the press release says, “Pirattitude meets silly in these riotous tales of a jam-stealin’ Captain T Rex, Stig the stegosaurus, Dippy the diplodocus, Tricky the triceratops and Terry the pterodactyl and four adventure lovin’ kids Captain Flinn, Pearl, Tom and Violet who teach them a thing or two!”

The Emmy Award winning children’s entertainment company was started in Sydney by Executive Producer Suzanne Ryan as an independent production company in 2003.
