Annick Perrin will join Starcom as the managing director of its Sydney office after announcing last month that she would be leaving Initiative.

Perrin is one of the most senior female leaders in Australian media agencies and has spent the last 19 months at Initiative as its Sydney managing director, after joining in September 2012 from Ikon Communications.

“Annick is a consummate media professional and brings with her more than 20 years of experience, as well as the esteem and regard of her industry peers and clients. She will be an invaluable addition to the team,” said Chris Nolan CEO of Starcom.

Perrin was seen as one of the architects of Ikon’s reputation of having Australia’s best media agency culture for much of the last decade and was one of the first of series of senior departures from Ikon in 2012-13.

“We’re really happy to welcome a leader with such a great reputation as Annick to Starcom,” said Nolan.

Perrin said: “It’s not very often in your career that you are able to join such a high calibre agency, Starcom, lead their people and their clients in a world where change is a constant.”

She takes up the role from June 10.
