ANZ appoints Leo Burnett as lead creative partner
ANZ has appointed Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett as its lead creative agency partner following a competitive pitch earlier this year.
Commencing immediately, the partnership will see Leos help ANZ enhance its brand presence and drive strategic growth through its marketing.
The incumbent, Special Group, held the creative account since 2021, and launched its first work in early 2022. Prior to the independent agency, ANZ worked with long-time partner TBWA\Melbourne, when it was appointed as the global creative agency in 2011.
“We are delighted to partner with Leo Burnett. Their proven track record in developing outstanding work and deep understanding of our industry make them an ideal partner to help us achieve our growth objectives,” said Sian Chadwick, general manager of marketing at ANZ.
“Leo Burnett’s exceptional strategic and creative capabilities, as well as their collaborative approach stood out to ANZ through the tender process.
“The agency’s alignment with ANZ’s vision underscores the bank’s commitment to delivering compelling marketing initiatives that resonate with a diverse customer base in an increasingly competitive environment.”
The brand said it is committed to building a strong, enduring relationship with Leos that fosters sustained success and growth.
Clare Pickens, CEO of Leos, added: “It’s a privilege to be selected as ANZ’s creative agency partner, which represents a new chapter for Leo Burnett in Australia.
“This collaboration provides a unique opportunity to leverage our strategic and creative expertise and support ANZ’s brand evolution. We are excited to work closely with ANZ to develop innovative and impactful work.”
ANZ thanked Special Group for their dedication to the brand since 2021, and thanked all agencies for their “professionalism, engagement, time, and effort” during the pitch process.
