Outdoor company APN sells its first CityRail on train campaign.
APN Outdoor, Australia’s leading outdoor advertising operator, has announced Emirates as the inaugural advertiser on the exterior of CityRail trains.
This is the first time ‘on-train’ advertising on CityRail trains has been sold to a 3rd party advertiser by an out of home operator. The on-train advertising package comprises two (2) Tangara trains of eight (8) carriages each with exterior panels (6.2m x 0.8m) placed on each side of the carriage (i.e. total of 32 panels across the 16 carriages).
Coverage is significant with both Tangara trains servicing the North shore and western suburban lines. Research conducted by APN Outdoor (source: HOOP research, 2011 : n = 500) indicates 76% of rail commuters agree the rail environment is a good place to reach them and 67% say they notice ads at trains stations more than other places.
Richard Herring, CEO of APN Outdoor said:
“The launch of on-train advertising represents another milestone in APN Outdoor’s long relationship with RailCorp. The ongoing innovation and development of new RailCorp advertising assets is a key component to our overall growth strategy.”
The inaugural Emirates campaign commences on 18 June 2012.
