Ardent Leisure appoints Philip Hancox as Dreamworld’s general marketing manager

Former Flight Centre commercial manager Philip Hancox has been appointed general manager for marketing for Ardent Leisure’s Dreamworld and SkyPoint subsidiaries.

Hancox, who joined Flight Centre in 2009, joins the company as it rebuilds its reputation after the Dreamworld tragedy which killed four customers and saw former Nine executive Simon Kelly replace besieged CEO Deborah Thomas.

Hancox’s role sees him responsible for overseeing the marketing and communications for both businesses including brand strategy, public relations and internal communications as Dreamworld revamps its rides and attractions.

He will oversee a marketing and communications team of 17 based at the Dreamworld office in Coomera on the Gold Coast.

Last year, Dreamworld appointed Stacey Grims as head of PR and internal communications.
