AthletesVoice creates video series featuring sports stars in home isolation

Sportstar influencer platform AthletesVoice has launched a video streaming series focusing on what elite athletes are doing during lockdown.

The first episode of AthleteTV features retired netball player Liz Ellis hosting a conversation between NRL’s Boyd Cordner, netballer Helen Housby, rugby union player Dan Carter and rugby coach Michael Cheika.

The 48 episodes in the first season are sponsored by P&G’s Pantene.

The videos will be hosted on Facebook.

AthletesVoice CEO, Kerry McCabe, said: “The reality right now is that our athletes have been stood down without pay or on reduced pay, sports lovers have little to watch, and brands have lost opportunities for engagement with this valuable audience.

“There are only so many trick-shot challenges, re-runs and greatest ever lists we can all take.

“We want to help fill the content void and support athletes through what will be a quite different sports industry and media landscape in the future.”
