Aussie agencies win at Bravo awards

Five Australian agencies have picked up awards for their healthcare work.

The announcement:

Australian agencies McCann Healthcare, Ward6, Ursa and Sudler & Hennessy have taken out five global awards at the annual Bravo! Awards last night.

The Awards, honouring creative and marketing excellence in healthcare communications, organised by The Global Awards and Bravo!, were held in Sydney at Simmer on the Bay in Walsh Bay.

Some 280 healthcare marketing specialists including international winners, turned out to celebrate the Global Award winners at Bravo’s 3rd birthday party.

MCann Healthcare took out two awards for Aricept in the category Professional Direct Mail and Professional Integrated Campaign, WARD6 won an award for Pariet in the Professional Sales Training Category, while URSA scored a Professional Public Relations Package award category. Sudler & Hennessy scored an award for St John First Aid, for ‘Everything Else can wait’ in the Consumer TV advertisement Medical Service category.

Michael O’Rourke, President of the New York based Global Awards, praised the standard of creativity in the Australian market and highlighted the importance of the Bravo! platform for the celebration of Global Award winners both locally and internationally.

He said: “The intellectual and emotional achievement of communication transcends the barriers of distance, language and culture. The Global Awards honor this profound connection, recognising creative excellence in healthcare communications on an international basis. Celebrating and awarding these creative achievements at Bravo! For the third year is an honor.”

The night also saw the praising of young talent in the industry, with the annual Brave Young Suit award going to Will Mumby of Ward6. Will won $1000 and a place in the popular AdSchool Digital Marketing course.

This year saw the introduction of a new ‘Fearless Client of the Year Award’, recognising the value of great creative partnerships between agencies and their clients. Aged & Community Services Australia won it for the first time, after a nomination by their agency Ursa.

Daniel Leesong, CEO of The Communications Council, said. “Celebrating and awarding creative achievements at Bravo! highlights the importance of commercial creativity. The awards underline the value of creative excellence in healthcare communications to clients and the merit of working with agencies that honour that excellence.”
