Australia prepares for Web Week
Australia is gearing up for a week of virtually unprecedented focus on the digital industry.
Web Week begins in just over a fortnight’s time.
Running from October 2 to October 9, it features discussions around sites, applications, design, innovation and social media. Events include workshops, conferences and parties.
Amogn the key events are the Web Directions South conference, the next Social Media Club Sydney gathering, the next Ignite Sydney and various social events.
The full calendar can be found on the Australian Web Week site.
Slow news day Tim? Nah, just kidding… I tweeted about this earlier today – certainly a great week to be in Sydney for.

It’s not just about social media, Tim. How to commercialise video is a key focus/issue of the digital/media industry. This is a blatant plug for the AIMIA seminar on next Thursday 24 September. Great case studies and speakers. Details at http://www.aimia.com.au/businessevents.

Thanks for the mention Tim,
Meanwhile, for the hard core tech folks out there there’s a Mozilla Labs night, the first ever down these parts, and the first ever exhibition by Yiying Lu, designer of the Fail Whale, which incorporates some augmented reality magic.
