Australian Event Awards launches public vote

The Australian Event Awards has opened a public vote for ‘Australia’s Favourite Event’ and the winner will be announced at their awards night in Sydney on November 19.

The announcement:

Who will be named Australia’s Favourite Event? It’s up to you!

Australia’s Favourite Event allows every Australian to vote for their favourite public event they have attended between 1/7/2012 and 30/6/2013.

All types of events including music festivals, sporting events, community events, cultural and commemorative events will compete for votes and the winner will be announced at the Australian Event Awards Industry Night of Nights in November.

In 2010, Jessica Watson’s Homecoming was awarded the top prize. Who can forget the delightful young sailor and her triumphant return to Sydney Harbour, and the importance of this great event. “I was so overwhelmed when I sailed into Sydney Harbour… It was a day I will treasure for the rest of my life and clearly a lot of other people must have felt the same way,” Watson said.

Nominations are open now. Nominating your event is free, quick and completed online.

Public voting opens for Australia’s Favourite Event on Monday 21st October. Event organisers across the country are encouraged to nominate their event online before voting opens to the public to maximise their chance to receive votes for their event.

Voting is free and open to anyone in Australia at www.eventawards.com.au.

The top ten finalists will be announced on Monday 4th November and voting continues.

Australia’s Favourite Event will be announced at the 2013 Australian Event Awards Industry Night of Nights, to be held at Doltone House, Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD on November 19th.
