Australian International Documentary Conference calls for Strategy Hack film submissions

Submissions are open for the Australian International Documentary Conference’s third Impact Strategy Hack, the organisation has announced.

CALL FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2018 AIDC/DAF IMPACT STRATEGY HACK
The Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) is now calling for film submissions for its third Impact Strategy Hack, presented by the Documentary Australia Foundation (DAF).
To be held during AIDC 2018 (4-7 March, ACMI, Melbourne), the Impact Strategy Hack is the centrepiece of AIDC’s Impact strand, devoted to documentary media with an advocacy focus.
Uniting a dream team of Impact Strategy experts, the Hack is aimed at developing a solid strategy for a documentary release campaign – with a focus on maximising impact and inspiring social change.
Filmmakers keen to participate are now invited to submit work for consideration, with one documentary film project selected to undertake the Hack at AIDC 2018.
The successful film’s team will engage in a live workshop with experts in the impact field to craft their campaign, with an audience of AIDC delegates in attendance.
Previous alumni of the Impact Strategy Hack have included disability activism documentary Defiant Lives, with director, writer and co-producer Sarah Barton noting:
“The Impact Strategy Hack really helped us to understand the landscape of how to run an impact strategy and it introduced us and our film Defiant Lives to some key players who we have subsequently worked with to bring the film to audiences.”
Further information, selection criteria and details about the two-step DAF and AIDC submission process are available now at aidc.com.au/2017/get-involved/impact-strategy-hack. Submissions to DAF are due 7 November 2017, and submissions to AIDC are due 30 November 2017.
The AIDC/DAF Impact Strategy Hack will take place during AIDC 2018, 4-7 March, ACMI, Fed Square, Melbourne. www.aidc.com.au
