Over 4 million watched last night’s Australian Open final
Over 4.7 million Australians tuned into the thrilling Australian Open men’s final last night, according to OzTAM’s VOZ Total TV report.
Under the new ratings system, which debuted today, national reach signifies how many people watched on free-to-air for a minute, or BVOD for 15 seconds.
4.767,000 people tuned into the Australian Open final at some point throughout the broadcast, with a total TV national audience of 2.12 million.
Day four of the Australia v West Indies Second Test had a national reach of 2.2 million viewers, with a national audience of 1.36 million. The test dominated a lot of the day’s viewing, with all four sessions (plus the tea break and pre-game) reaching millions of cricket-lovers.
Jeez, I hope the 64 seconds I watched before switching over in which I didn’t see any ads was worth it for the sponsors…it’s taken 20 years for TV to get on the digital bandwagon of truly meaningless numbers just as the rest of the industry goes the other way.
