Australian Open secures 726,000 viewers as Alex de Minaur beats Henri Laaksonen
19-year-old Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur and his win against Swiss qualifier Henri Laaksonen helped Nine secure 726,000 metro viewers on night three of the Australian Open.
According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, night three of the tennis was the second most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Night three of the Australian Open was also the second most watched non-news program, coming in behind Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The jungle-based reality show managed 736,000 metro viewers and was the most watched program in the key advertising demographics.
Meanwhile, Seven’s Big Bash game saw 399,000 metro viewers tune for the first session as the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades went head to head.
In news for the evening, Seven News at 6pm was the most watched program with 947,000 metro viewers compared to Nine News’ 823,000.
With the help from the Australian Open, Nine won Wednesday’s TV ratings with an overall audience share of 25.3%.
Nine managed to beat its rival free-to-air networks as Seven saw a share of 14.5%, Ten managed 13.5%, ABC drew in 9.6% and SBS finished with a 4% share.
