Australian Pork appoints Keep Left to get Aussies buying local this Christmas

Australian Pork has appointed marketing communications agency, Keep Left, to lead an awareness campaign about buying Christmas hams made with Australian pork this year.

Research from Australian Pork found that the majority of Australians are prioritising buying local products for Christmas this year in an effort to support Australian farmers.

Keep Left was tasked with providing integrated marketing communications for Australian Pork, across public relations and influencer relations. It also executed social content.

Australian Pork marketing director for brand, Enubi Lee, said Keep Left stood out in the pitch process for its multi-channel approach.

“The agency’s ideas for PR and influencer content really excited us and its strategy to combine them was exactly what we were looking for,” Lee said.

“The buy local message has been said many times before, so we wanted to find an agency partner that was capable of finding the right hook to cut through and draw attention to our local message this Christmas. Its history of working with profit-for-purpose clients also made it the right choice.”

Tim Lele, head of PR at Keep Left, said: “We’ve all been exposed to the message of ‘buy local, support local’ this year, and we want to make sure this remains top of mind for shoppers planning their Christmas celebrations this year.

“Research shows that Australian ham is a family favourite at Christmas, so it was an easy decision for us to help support local producers.”

The appointment for Keep Left follows Blair Kimber joining the agency as creative director. This year, the agency has also brought on environmental enterprise GreenCollar and not-for-profit, MND Victoria as clients.
