Kids inserted into highlights from AFL games in 2018’s Mini Legends campaign
NAB has launched its latest iteration of its Mini Legends series for 2018, inserting children into highlights from popular AFL games.
The campaign features miniature versions of AFL stars Trent Cotchin, Dyson Heppell, Ben Brown and Charlie Cameron.
Created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, during the 30 second ad children dressed as famous footballers are seen kicking goals, marking the ball and hand balling while commentators have their say on the miniature players.
Antony Cahill, chief operating officer at NAB, said in a statement: “We’re celebrating our heroes on the field, and the youngsters across the country in grassroots programs who are inspired by their favourite AFL heroes.
“This year, we’ve used special effects so the NAB Mini Legends look to be playing out some great moments of this season. I’d imagine it won’t be the last time we see these kids playing in the big time.”
The campaign is running on TV, print, digital and across social channels.
Rich Williams, creative director at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, added: “This year, we’ve well and truly delivered on that promise by creating an experience where the kids get to see themselves up against some of their AFL heroes with the roar of a matchday crowd in the background.”
