AustralianSuper encourages retirees to turn their super into retirement income in new ad

Superannuation company AustralianSuper is encouraging retirees to turn their super into a retirement income to top up their aged pension in a new campaign.

The TV and cinema ad, created by The Shannon Company,  features a husband telling his wife that they need to be more economical around the home as he approaches retirement before pulling her into the shower with him to ‘get fiscal’.

AustralianSuper group executive of marketing and corporate affairs Georgina Williams said: “The film will appeal to all of us who are young-at-heart, as we hope does our commercial – not only making us laugh, but also challenging us to think seriously about how an ongoing income stream could improve our retirement.

“Until now, most people have been told that a retirement income product was only for those with super balances of half a million dollars or more. That’s just not true. Our campaign shows that even relatively low super balances can be added to the government age pension to provide a more comfortable lifestyle in retirement. It’s about making the most of whatever you have.”

It is running across TV and cinema with digital support and direct mail.
